Joe J. Chila (Owner and Percussionist/Instructor)

This is a man who lives, eats, and breathes DRUMS and MUSIC. His musical credits include years of big band drumming, recording, and jingles, along with rock shows and theater work (Annie, Selma, West Side Story, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up, Always, Patsy Cline, Tribute to the Rat Pack). Acts he's worked with include: The Marvelettes, Billy Eckstein, Lou Christie, Four Ladds, Mary Wells, Pete Barbutti, the Platters, Martha Reeves, Rodney Dangerfield, The Diamonds, Peter Noone, Mickey Rooney, and the list goes on. In addition to being a very busy drum set artist, Joe plays and teaches a variety of hand percussion, tympani, and mallet instruments. He stays very active working with a variety of latin and jazz groups as well as some R & B bands, and occasionally performs with the Rochester Symphony. He also enjoys working with elementary school kids and doing percussion clinics at local schools, especially with his Percussion Group "The Timekeepers".

Drew Weber (Percussionist/Instructor)

A Rochester native, Drew has been drumming since the mid 70's. He attended the Blue lake Fine Arts camp when he was 16, and he enjoys performing many different musical styles. Drew has performed at jazz clubs and theaters, and toured with the east coast band "Avalanche". After studying locally with Rocker Roxy Petrucci and JC, he attended the Berklee School of Music in boston where he continued his education with master drummers Joe hunt and Tommy Campbell. Drew has performed with the 50's group "The Diamonds" as well as many local groups, and now freee lances all over town. He is a member of "The Timekeepers".

Marcus Bearss (Percussionist/Instructor)

Marcus studied percussion with Dr. Lopenstein at Bethel College in Indiana. He's performed with the "Macombers Swing Choir" at Macomb College and has played with the "Soul Searchers" blues band, the "Sovereign Soul" rock group, and the ska band "Odyssey". Marcus is very active in his church worship band and also gigs with singer/songwriter Renee Courtney as well as various recording projects. He is also a member of "The Timekeepers".

Jeremy Otto (Percussionist/Instructor)

Jeremy started playing drums when he was 11. He studied rudiments with JC and played in his high school marching and jazz bands. He has played with local groups "Sunday Hill Memorial", "Cicada", and the blues band "Jump Cats", and is currently performing and recording with the psychedelic rock band "Shell" and singer/songwriter Phil Treais.

Rich has been gigging around the Detroit area for years. An excellent jazz player and a regular at our Jam Nights, you'll see Rich at lounge gigs as well as Wedding and Corporate events. Although he is an accomplished jazz cat, Rich can rock too! He's a great teacher and has a thorough knowledge of musical theory.

Christine Chila-Morand (Vocalist/Pianist/Instructor)

Chris has been a professional vocalist/pianist since 1981. Chris has recorded music productions and media jingles in the studio and has performed with live vocal jazz and latin music groups. A few of Chris' performing venues include the "Walt Disney's Cruise Line", the "Meadowbrook Music Festival", the "Masonic Temple" and Detroit's "Montreux Jazz Festival". Chris has had the privilege of performing jazz, R&B, folk, rock, and more with some of Detroit's greats and has had lead piano and vocal roles in dinner theatre and stage theatre productions. Chris continues to sing, play, and arrange professionally. Her passion is teaching children of all ages to enjoy the power of music.
